About Our Music Program
Music is an integral and dynamic part of Congregational Church. We have singers, bell ringers and instrumentalists. Our music is blended in with Sunday worship services to help make them more meaningful and inspirational. There’s congregational hymn singing and a choir anthem or special music every Sunday. The music program includes an adult choir, bell choir, and an organist/pianist all led by our creative and talented director, Jimmy Buchanan. We perform all styles of music with lots of heart and soul. Come sing, listen and let the spirit move you.
Chancel Choir
The Adult Chancel Choir sings on most Sundays except during summer months when it takes a break. Regular choir practice is at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. There’s also extra practice on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 for those who can attend. It’s a great way to be a part of the church community, grow spiritually through music and have lots of fun too. No experience required, just a love of music and fellowship.
Bell Choir
The Bell Choir performs in worship several times a year, and it rehearses on Mondays 6:30 to 7:30 pm. It’s a great way to be a part of the church community, grow spiritually through music and have lots of fun too. No experience required, just a love of music and fellowship. They have way more fun than the Chancel Choir. Just saying.
Summer Music
During the summer we enjoy a variety of musical talent from members of the congregation as well as individual choir members. If you are musically inclined and would like to share your talent, we would love to have you play an instrument or sing during a Sunday worship service in the summer months. This is a great way to be part of the music ministry and creatively contribute to worship by helping to make a joyful noise. Just talk with Jimmy about the possibilities and sign up when summer is on the way.
